Welcome to the Simpson Clinical Skills and Simulation Room, which is a large purpose built training facility within the Chichester Medical Education Centre (CMEC).

The centre is managed by Julie Turner who is the Clinical Skills Lead. Please feel free to contact her to arrange training sessions that can be done on an individual base’s or as a group session

The Centre contains state of the art training and simulation aids
Including:

Arterial puncture arms
Advanced venapuncture trainers
Spinal anaesthesia trainers
Epidural trainers
Chest drain trainers
Catheterisation trainers
Airway management trainers

The centre includes a simulation room which can be set up to be a ward or theatre environment to allow for realistic simulation scenarios. It has both SimMan and SimBaby. SimMan and SimBaby have realistic anatomy and clinical functionality. They allow us to carry out simulation-based
education to challenge and test students’ clinical and decision-making skills during realistic patient care scenarios. Both manikins allow for the capacity for:

Airway instrumentation, intubation, ventilation.
Physiological responses to medications and fluids.
Needle cricothyrotomy, chest tube placement.
IV insertion and urine output.
Chest compression and defibrillation
Programmable medial conditions.
Challenging scenarios allow participants to experience state-of-the-art medical training without risk to patients.
